Hi, I'm Monica! Fancy meeting you!

Thank you for visiting and reading a bit more about me.

I’m a working Mom of two girls with a new side gig!  We are all trying to live our best lives….and everyone has a different definition of what our best life entails.

Have you ever heard, “get off your high horse?!” I happen to have been told multiple times to “get off my high horse” throughout my health journey.  After you do your research, make a switch, and see the benefits from the changes, you don’t want to go back to living a “normal” life. You confidently want to stay on your “High Horse” and help others to get there as well.

One may prioritize home-cooked meals, clean filtered water, specialty supplements, specialized workouts, fresh air, fragrance free products, clean ingredients, EMF protection, or brown eggs over white eggs. Others may be here for a good sale notification, comfy clothing finds, a good song, or daily inspirations.  My hope is to inspire you in all aspects of life. In the end there is a balance. You may find that I drink triple filtered water on one hand and use my favorite cosmetic item that doesn’t have the cleanest ingredients because I…just… like… it….and haven’t found a good alternative yet.

I will be sharing ways to elevate your health, classy or comfy clothing finds, home décor, heartwarming holiday décor, and let’s not forget - delicious recipes.  Let’s be the Best of Friends, lifting each other up and sharing positive/helpful life tips.  It takes a village right!? Well, I am forming a positive, uplifting, best practices village and inviting you along for the ride!

My country roots run deep. I was born in the Texas Hill Country and grew up showing animals in 4-H/FFA, entered baking contests, rode horses daily, and enjoyed going to as many rodeos as I could. After graduating from High School I attended Schreiner University on a full paid scholarship for 3 semesters and transferred to Texas A&M University where I completed my BS in Food Science and Technology. *Class of 2008* WHOOP :) I now live in the “city” which has allowed me to have two very clear aspects of life.  My memory of living in the country consists of wide open land, two lane roads where your neighbors wave as they pass by, sweet animals to care for, and Sunday dinners around the table with family.  The “city” life has its perks of many activities to choose from, gourmet restaurants, most travel times within minutes, and higher paying careers.  As I have become a mother and approaching “middle age” I find living in the city can have its challenges as well.  The longer I live in the city, the more I yearn for the feeling of living in the country.  Identifying the importance of slowing down, managing stress, cooking at home, exercising, taking a morning/evening walk, and prioritizing sleep can be a game changer for improved health.  Often times the fast pace sneaks up on you and your body shows signs of making you listen, causing you to get on your “High Horse.”

Let me just fill you in on a little secret…and listen close.  Most of the time I am in comfortable clothing, wearing my tinted sunscreen as foundation, and my house looks like two baby tornados have passed through (because they do on a daily basis as soon as they come home from school!

Don’t let IG fool you, “everything that glitters is not gold.” My heart smiles for all the things sparkly, gold, full makeup, fancy dresses, glamorous homes, and decorations “to the nines” for every holiday. You will find a mixture of these two aspects. I hope you follow along on IG and check in on my blog!

We all have goals of living our best lives. Whether big or small….Let’s chase them together!
